Genesis has officially put a price on its first true high-performance model, and the 2027 GV Magma will start at $69,950 before taxes, title, license, dealer fees, and destination charges. This is a major moment for Genesis, as Magma becomes more than a concept or design exercise and moves into production as the brand’s answer to the growing field of performance EVs. Based on the GV60, the Magma version adds sharper styling, more power, track-focused hardware, and a much more driver-centered personality.

Power comes from an upgraded dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup producing more than 600 horsepower in standard form, with up to 641 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque available in Boost Mode. Genesis lists front and rear motor outputs of 166 kW and 282 kW, backed by an 84-kWh battery. The GV60 Magma also gets an electronic limited-slip differential, high-performance battery control, Launch Control, Drift Mode, Sprint Mode, GT Mode, and Boost Mode, giving drivers several ways to tailor the car’s behavior depending on the road or track setting.

Genesis is also leaning into emotional engagement, something performance EVs still have to work harder to deliver. Virtual Gear Shift recreates the feeling of gear changes using virtual RPM logic, shift feedback, gear indicators, and sound integration. The enhanced e-Active Sound Design Plus system uses external speakers at the front and rear to simulate performance sounds inspired by Goodwood Festival audio. It is clearly aimed at giving the GV60 Magma more personality than a silent point-and-shoot EV.

The exterior backs up the performance mission with a wider, lower stance and Magma-specific aerodynamic touches. These include front bumper canards, fender garnishes and breathers, a winglet-style rear spoiler, wider tires, and 21-inch matte-finish forged wheels. Color choices include signature Magma Orange, Uyuni White, Vik Black, and Makalu Gray Matte. Inside, the GV60 Magma gets Genesis’ first performance bucket seats, an Obsidian Black suede interior with Magma Orange stitching, dedicated Boost and Magma Mode buttons on the steering wheel, alloy pedals, a performance-focused gauge cluster, and a 27-inch integrated OLED infotainment display.

The 2027 GV60 Magma will launch first at select Genesis retailers in California, New York, and New Jersey in the coming weeks. Standard features include heated and ventilated front bucket seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Bang & Olufsen sound system, over-the-air updates, connected cloud profiles, surround-view monitoring, blind-spot view monitor, and a comprehensive suite of advanced safety features. At $69,950, the GV60 Magma gives Genesis a serious performance flagship and signals that the brand’s Magma division is ready to compete with more than just luxury credentials.
