Dodge really wants you to get excited about the new Charger, even if it’s had a rocky launch.

On Tuesday, what can only be the return of the iconic Super Bee namplate was teased by Dodge with a reveal date set for Friday, August 7, 2026. That’s the day before the automaker’s 2026 Road Kill Night’s festivities that will encompass an entire weekend of burnouts, drag racing, and more.

The teaser video, which is all of 15 seconds long, features a bunch of bees on a drag strip light tree, the loud sound of buzzing (from the bees), and at the end a song saying, you know what it is, black and yellow, black and yellow.”

The next era of Dodge muscle. Coming 8.7.26.

The teaser video above doesn’t leave much to the imagination as to what exactly Dodge plans to debut on August 7.

Dodge accompanied the teaser video by saying it’s for the most powerful sixpack-powered Charger. That’s marketing speak for a Charger with a more powerful turbocharged inline-six Hurricane engine. The current Charger Scat Pack with the high-output Hurricane turbo-six clocks in with 550 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque.

Dodge has been open that a more powerful Hurricane-powered Charger is in the works. In March, Dodge CEO Matt McLear told The Drive, “We’re gonna continue to push the limits of this engine [the Hurricane I6] and see what it can do.”

The Super Bee isn’t the first Bee nameplate to return to Stellantis this year. In May, the 2027 Ram SRT Rumble Bee was revealed with a 777-horsepower Hellcat-sourced supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine.

The new Charger Super Bee clearly will be powered by six cylinders and not a Hemi V8, but a Hemi is bound for the Charger. Later in May Stellantis announced a huge turnaround plan that includes 60 new vehicles and 50 refreshes by 2030. One of those vehicles is a new Charger SRT with a huge rear wing straight out of the Superbird era, and you can bet dollars to donuts there’s likely a Hellcat-sourced Hemi under its hood.

For now, the Charger has no Hemi and that will remain the case next week, but the Super Bee will return for a new era.
