    • The Li i6 accounted for nearly 70% of Li Auto’s deliveries in June, making it the company’s most important sales pillar at present.
    • The company said headlight supply and vehicle production for the Li i6 have returned to normal.

An executive at Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) has indicated that deliveries of the company’s most important model may decline this month amid component supply issues.

Due to temporary fluctuations in the supply of headlights, production of the Li i6, Li Auto’s all-electric SUV, was reduced by about 4,000 units in mid- to late July compared to the original plan, Li Xinyang, the company’s head of product line, said on Weibo on Monday.

“Currently, the supply of headlights and vehicle production have returned to normal,” Li wrote on Weibo.

The company is working with supply chain partners to make up the lost output so that delivery times for customers who have already placed orders are not affected, he said.

The episode comes just as the Li i6 reached a new production milestone. One of the company’s product managers said last week that the 160,000th Li i6 had rolled off the production line.

The Li i6 was launched on September 26, 2025, with deliveries starting the next day, at a starting price of 249,800 yuan ($36,780).

The five-seat electric SUV uses a new 5C lithium iron phosphate battery, with peak charging power of more than 500 kW and a CLTC range of 720 km.

The pace of Li i6 output matters a great deal for Li Auto. The model has topped 20,000 deliveries for four consecutive months, with 21,453 units in June, or 69.44% of the company’s total for the month, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

Li Auto’s overall sales, meanwhile, remain under pressure. It delivered 30,895 vehicles in June, down 14.84% year-on-year and the second straight month of annual decline.

In the first half of the year, it delivered 193,472 vehicles, down 5.13% from a year earlier.

Li Auto posted an unexpected net loss of 2.3 billion yuan in the first quarter, with its gross margin falling to 7.9% from 20.5% a year earlier.

To revive sales, the company is overhauling its L series of extended-range models, including the new Li L9 and Li L8 already on sale, as well as the next-generation Li L6 launched on July 16.

Li Auto is attempting to counter fierce domestic competition by expanding its overseas footprint.
