There’s a “no car listing fee” promo deal going on at eBay Motors right now until the end of the month. So if you were thinking about unloading a vehicle, this could be a good avenue for you.
I’ve never bought a whole car on eBay, but I have bought and sold all kinds of other stuff. It does feel safer and more legit than Facebook Marketplace. Having eBay Motors’ buyer and seller protections feels good once you start getting into used cars that cost more than a few grand. You can read about eBay Motors’ Secure Purchase protections here.
The main downside of selling on eBay is its steep fee structure. Fortunately, eBay Motors doesn’t charge a “final value fee” to car sellers as it does for other items. For listing, you normally have to pay about $34 to list a car under $15,000 or $79 for something over that price. But from now until the end of the month, you can skip that and list for free.

Word to the wise: There are still a couple of specific scenarios where you might still get hit with a fee to keep in mind:
- Deposit Processing Fee: If you require the buyer to pay an upfront deposit through eBay’s checkout to secure the vehicle (which is very common), eBay charges a 2.8% processing fee on the deposit amount. For example, if you require a $500 deposit, eBay will keep $14.00, and you will receive $486.00.
- Optional Upgrades: The promotion specifically applies to the base listing fee. If you choose to add premium optional upgrades to your listing (beyond what is included in the standard 40-photo listing package) or if you have standard Store subscription fees, those are not covered by the discount.
