- Xpeng has set the global launch event for the Mona L03 SUV at 7:00 pm Beijing Time on July 16, or 1:00 pm local time in Munich.
- The company will also disclose its physical AI roadmap at the event, reinforcing its smart-driving and globalization narrative.
Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) has set the start time for the global launch event of the Mona L03 at 7:00 pm Beijing Time on July 16, giving a clearer timetable for the low-priced SUV (sport utility vehicle) to go on sale in China and Europe.
The Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker said on Weibo on Monday that the event will be held in Munich, Germany, corresponding to 1:00 pm local time in the city.
Xpeng had previously announced that the Mona L03 would make its global market debut on July 16. The latest update is the specific start time for the event.
The company said the Mona L03 will be its first global model to go on sale simultaneously in China and Europe. It will also announce the latest roadmap and technological progress for its physical AI (artificial intelligence).
Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng said on Weibo today that Xpeng chose Munich for its first formal global launch event because Germany is where the auto industry was born. He said the company hopes to bring mature smart mobility experiences to users worldwide.
The Mona L03 started pre-sales in China on July 2, with pre-sales prices ranging from 143,800 yuan ($21,200) to 165,800 yuan. Xpeng positions the model as “the first smart and stylish SUV for young people,” targeting young consumers and mainstream family users.
The model is the first SUV in the Mona lineup and the second model in the series after the Mona M03 sedan.
Xpeng said the Mona L03 was developed to global standards and that it plans to bring the model to markets in 64 countries and regions.
The Mona L03 offers both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) powertrain options, continuing Xpeng’s “dual-powertrain” strategy. That allows the company to cover both pure EV users and consumers who still value longer driving range.
The BEV version offers CLTC ranges of 525 kilometers and 625 kilometers, with energy consumption of 11.9 kWh per 100 kilometers. It supports 3C fast charging and can charge from 10% to 80% in 19.1 minutes.
The EREV version has a combined CLTC range of up to 1,330 kilometers and a pure electric range of 315 kilometers. Its WLTC combined fuel consumption is 5.16 liters per 100 kilometers, and it accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in 6.8 seconds.
Smart driving is a key selling point that Xpeng hopes will help set the model apart. All Mona L03 variants are equipped with Xpeng’s in-house developed Turing AI chip, with computing power of up to 1500 TOPS, and support its second-generation VLA (Vision-Language-Action) system.
The Max variant uses a single chip with 750 TOPS of computing power and is equipped with the distilled version of the second-generation VLA. The Ultra SE variant uses dual chips and supports the full version of the second-generation VLA, bringing higher-end assisted-driving hardware further into the mass-market price segment.
That also makes the Mona L03 an important part of Xpeng’s plan to restore sales momentum in the second half. Deutsche Bank analysts expect the model to achieve average monthly sales of about 12,500 units and potentially replicate the success of the Mona M03 sedan.
Xpeng needs a new sales pillar to sustain its recent rebound. The company delivered 40,126 vehicles in June, up 15.93% year-on-year, marking its highest monthly total so far in 2026 and ending 5 straight months of year-on-year declines.

The Mona L03’s simultaneous global launch also shows that Xpeng is tying its product launch cadence more closely to its overseas expansion.
The company hopes to increase its visibility in the global EV competition through lower pricing, stronger smart technology and greater exposure in the European market.
The Mona L03 was designed by an international team led by former Ferrari exterior designer JuanMa Lopez. The vehicle adopts the Vital Flow design concept and has a drag coefficient as low as Cd 0.228.
The cabin features a 26.8-inch W-HUD, a 20-speaker AI audio system and a 14-point massage zero-gravity front passenger seat. The vehicle also has 539 liters of standard trunk space and supports 6 kW vehicle-to-load power output.
Xpeng Mona L03 pre-sales start at 143,800 yuan ($21,200), with both battery electric and extended-range powertrain options available.
