It’s hard to believe that just a few years ago Stellantis was gearing up to phase out most of its V8 lineup. Yet here we are in 2026, and Ram’s new 1500 Rumble Bee arrives as a modern street truck with no fewer than three V8 powertrains on offer. That means there’s something for everyone, from affordable V8 performance all the way up to supercharged Hellcat-powered insanity. And now we know just how affordable they are.

The Ram 1500 Rumble Bee was unveiled in May, and it will be ready to tear up the tarmac later this year, though initially only in base Rumble Bee guise. Buyers holding out for the more powerful Rumble Bee 392 and Hellcat-powered Rumble Bee SRT will have to wait until sometime in the first half of 2027, Ram has confirmed.
The base Rumble Bee comes equipped with Stellantis’s 5.7-liter workhorse V8, rated at 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. Ram says the truck will sprint to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds and cover the quarter-mile in 14.1 seconds. Pricing starts at $59,995. That isn’t cheap, but it’s $6,000 cheaper than today’s average transaction price for a full-size pickup, according to Cox Automotive data.

Next up is the Rumble Bee 392, which packs the 6.4-liter V8 found in the larger 2500 and marks the engine’s first application in the light-duty 1500. Rated at 470 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque, it delivers a zero-to-60 time of 5.2 seconds and runs the quarter-mile in 13.2 seconds. Pricing starts at $69,995 for the standard version and climbs to $79,995 for the Rumble Bee 392 Track Pack. The package adds a host of chassis and styling upgrades, including Bilstein shocks with air springs, upgraded brakes, and 22-inch wheels that are two inches wider than those fitted to the standard truck and require 325-millimeter tires.
The king of the hill is the Rumble Bee SRT, powered by the supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 and carrying a $94,995 starting price. Here, the engine is rated at 777 hp and 680 lb-ft of torque, matching the output of the off-road-focused Ram 1500 TRX SRT, which starts $5,000 higher. Thanks to its street-focused setup, the Rumble Bee SRT reaches 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, a tenth quicker than the TRX, while the quarter-mile disappears in 11.6 seconds. That’s only a few tenths off the pace of a Ferrari Enzo, mind you.
Which Truck Is Right For You?

The base Rumble Bee is the clear budget pick, delivering the street-truck look, sharper handling, and a genuine V8 soundtrack at the lowest price point. Sure, it gives up some performance to its more powerful siblings, but it still offers plenty of character. Ram also sees it as the ideal starting point for buyers who plan to customize their truck, providing a solid foundation without breaking the bank.
The Rumble Bee 392 is the sweet spot of the lineup. Its 6.4-liter V8 delivers a meaningful jump in performance, and buyers who spring for the Track Pack gain many of the chassis upgrades shared with the flagship SRT. If money is no object, the Hellcat-powered SRT is the one to have. It’s the fastest and most capable version, and it’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face every time you get behind the wheel – though the other trims should manage that, too.

Anyone planning to do serious truck duty should be aware of a few compromises. Every Rumble Bee combines the shorter Quad Cab body with a 5-foot 7-inch bed, making it the shortest 1500 available, while ground clearance of roughly 8.1 inches matches the height of the standard trucks. Towing capacity ranges from 7,300 pounds for the Rumble Bee 392 to 8,890 pounds for the base model, while payload capacity sits at roughly 1,150 pounds across the lineup.
CarBuzz Insight – Why This Matters
More than just another special edition, the Rumble Bee serves as the latest proof that Stellantis has changed course. Under CEO Antonio Filosa, the company has embraced the idea that affordable V8 performance still has a place in the market – a stark contrast to former CEO Carlos Tavares’ plan to phase out V8s in light-duty vehicles and pivot heavily toward EVs. The early results suggest the strategy is resonating with buyers, perhaps best exemplified by the Dodge Durango, which is offered primarily with V8 power and is posting record sales despite riding on a platform that dates back to the 2011 model year.
