    • 2026 Shenzhen Auto Show attracted 810,000 visitors, with 39,253 vehicle orders placed.
    • 2027 Shenzhen Auto Show is scheduled for June 5 to 13 next year.

Following the conclusion of the 2026 Beijing Auto Show last month, another major automotive industry event in southern China has wrapped up.

The 2026 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Auto Show (Shenzhen Auto Show) officially closed on June 7. The event’s organizers simultaneously announced on Sunday that the next edition of the Shenzhen Auto Show will be held from June 5, 2027.

Held at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center, the exhibition utilized 11 halls and outdoor display areas. The overall exhibition scale reached 300,000 square meters, slightly smaller than the Beijing Auto Show, which previously set a global scale record.

Over the course of its 10-day run, the event attracted a total of 810,000 visitors.

Official data showed that vehicle orders placed at this year’s Shenzhen Auto Show reached 39,253 units, with an estimated transaction value of about 8.25 billion yuan ($1.22 billion).

Shenzhen-headquartered BYD (HKEX: 1211) made a massive showing at the event, taking over Hall 1 to create a dedicated group pavilion that assembled its full brand matrix, including the luxury brand Yangwang, alongside its cutting-edge technologies.

Tech giant Huawei also drew significant attention, gathering five major brands under its HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) ecosystem on the same stage in Hall 2.

In addition, Huawei Qiankun made an appearance with its vehicle partners in Hall 4, showcasing its capabilities in smart driving systems and digital chassis engines.

This year’s Shenzhen Auto Show witnessed the global debut of several models. Vehicles such as the Maextro S800 Grand Design, jointly developed by Huawei and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Corp (JAC), and the updated Onvo L60 under Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO) made their first appearances.

Concept cars like Geely’s robotaxi prototype, the Eva Cab, also took the stage, demonstrating the future direction of mobility.

The Auto Show also hosted a matchmaking event for vehicle exports and cross-border cooperation, inviting groups of overseas buyers from 16 countries, including France, Russia, and Mexico.

The move aims to break down supply and demand barriers between vehicle manufacturers and technology companies, building an efficient communication bridge, the event’s organizers said.

The Shenzhen Auto Show was also dedicated to promoting local car culture, introducing extreme track performances and exclusive car enthusiast gatherings. Organizers aimed to transform the simple act of car viewing into an interactive carnival through immersive experiences.

The 31st Shenzhen Auto Show in 2027 will continue to be held at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center. The exhibition period is scheduled for June 5 to 13 next year.

The Shenzhen Auto Show is held annually, unlike the Beijing and Shanghai auto shows, which take place biennially.

Before the next Shenzhen Auto Show is held, the 2027 Shanghai Auto Show is expected to take place in late April next year.

Intelligence and electrification technologies emerged as core highlights, with multiple automakers showcasing models integrated with AI.
