The Drive 🤝 your inbox. Every weekday The Daily Brief wraps up the biggest stories and our exclusive reporting on the auto industry and car culture. But there’s actually a pretty wicked twist: The new rules would effectively eliminate the Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) “light truck” loophole, paving the way for a new system that more accurately classifies passenger cars and…

For the first time in quite a while, a prebuilt PC can save you money over creating your own rig. Urbazon/Getty Images We may receive a commission on purchases made from links. This is painful to write as someone who’s been building their own gaming PCs for decades. Still, there’s no denying that corporations’ seemingly unquenchable thirst to build so many AI data centers has made PC component prices shoot through the roof. Photo: © arbourphoto.com A five-stop concert tour in Quebec ran entirely on two Chevrolet Silverado EVs and a 150 kWh mobile power plant this summer. No diesel generator, and no hookup to the grid. I went to the final show, held in a grocery store parking lot in Montreal’s Saint-Henri neighborhood, and everything from the speakers to the stage lights to the kitchen was running off batteries. A free tour powered by EV batteries The tour, called “Le goût du paysage” (roughly “a taste of the landscape”), was put together by Papillons. That’s the Quebec company behind the RechargÉco fast-charging…
