Although Toyota has intensified its teaser campaign in recent days, the much-hyped supercar won’t debut at the Japan Mobility Show in late October after all. The wait won’t be long, though; an official countdown page reveals that the premiere is scheduled for December 4 at 9 PM Eastern Time. The car’s first public appearance will follow in January 2025 at the Tokyo Auto Salon. Ahead of its long-awaited debut, Toyota’s third supercar, after the 2000GT and Lexus LFA, reveals its engine note in a new teaser. During a live broadcast this week, the sounds of all three models were played:…
Say hello to the newest fun-focused Ford Mustang. Before you ask, yes, it’s an EcoBoost. No, there’s no manual transmission. But it looks like a GT, stops like a GT, and according to the team at Ford and Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s RTR Vehicles, handles like no other factory Mustang. It’s called the Mustang RTR, and if you’re not careful, it will come at you sideways. Literally. Automotive Cadillac is reshuffling its sedan deck. The brand says the CT4 and CT5 will end production after the 2026 model year, but this is not a goodbye to the mid-size four door altogether. A new generation of CT5 is in development, and the plan is for it to return with internal combustion power and a fresh take on Cadillac’s driver focused flagship. The roadmap looks like this. CT4 wraps up in June 2026, while CT5 stays on the line a bit longer before the next chapter begins. Cadillac has not confirmed whether the name or body style…
Kia is about to go on the offensive. The automaker plans to nearly triple electric vehicle production in Europe within the next two years as it introduces the new EV2 and EV4. Kia doubles down on EV2 and EV4 production plans With the EV2 and EV4 joining the lineup, Kia will offer an electric vehicle for nearly everyone. The EV2 is Kia’s smallest, most affordable electric car, set to sit below the EV3. Despite its compact size, Kia said the EV2 will “redefine urban electric mobility” with a flexible interior, its latest connectivity tech, and more. According to Kia’s CEO,…
Meta is adding group chats to Threads, allowing users to message multiple friends in shared conversations instead of sending separate DMs. Threads users can create a group chat by starting a new message and adding up to 50 people who follow their Threads account. The group chat name can be customized to make it easier to identify by topic or participants, similar to how group messages function on Facebook Messenger.Group chat support is currently rolling out globally, excluding the UK and Australia, with Meta spokesperson Alec Booker telling The Verge that the company is working to expand messaging to these…
I imagined I would be talking lag and uneven torque delivery. Not a bit of it: this engine pulls strongly from nothing, cruises smoothly, can handle a tall gearing and can punt this two-tonne machine from 0-60mph in a mere 7.6sec. I can pass people easily on the open road using kickdown. Its fuel consumption is a bugbear, but I had expected that. The usual is 24-26mpg in any use, and if you ever see 28mpg, you get the flags out. Even so, you can expect a touring range close to 500 miles, because the fuel tank is vast, at…
When it comes to building performance engines, making sure the powerplant can rev as freely and highly as possible is crucial. Due to the engine performing more revolutions in a given minute, more power is produced as a byproduct, which improves the vehicle’s performance. It’s not exactly straightforward to achieve this though, as the higher an engine revs, the more punishment it takes. It therefore needs to be stronger to ensure it doesn’t blow up every 10 seconds. It also gets tough trying to ensure the engine’s torque curve is good throughout the larger rev range, as it can be…
The biggest car news and reviews, no BS Our free daily newsletter sends the stories that really matter directly to you, every weekday. Last week, David “Heavy D” Sparks, one of the big-bearded Diesel Brothers guys of YouTube and Discovery Channel fame, was taken to jail over failure to pay about $850,000 in fees related to a Clean Air Act lawsuit. After being locked up for three days, he had a hearing where a judge ordered his immediate release. While it initially looked like he was just flouting criminal fines when this story first broke last week, that’s not exactly…
Customer service is slipping, according to a new GoDaddy Consumer Pulse survey, with nearly half of shoppers saying the quality of support has declined. The survey of 1,500 consumers found that only one in five believe that service has improved, while 42 per cent say it has worsened. And there’s a generational divide. Among Gen X and Boomers, just 12 per cent think service has improved, compared to 29 per cent of Gen Z and 31 per cent of Millennials. Younger consumers appear more optimistic but also have higher expectations for speed and convenience. “The generational divide is striking. Young…
Following up its collaboration GX550 from earlier this year, the duo is back with a collection of styles suited for the golf course. The game of golf keeps evolving as its popularity grows, and a younger generation of athletes is looking to take on a lifetime sport. While country clubs still hold tight to their traditional rules and dress codes, the game itself has started to adapt with modern times, and nowhere is that more visible than in fashion. Malbon Golf has been leading the charge, creating styles that respect the old-school dress code but bring a fresh, imaginative edge…
