Primakov/Shutterstock Discord’s support team took to X yesterday to explain how a bug in its moderation tools caused accounts to be incorrectly banned. While about 200 accounts were caught by the issue over this weekend, the problem may have impacted around 8,200 accounts since May 2026. Posts of square grid images seemed to be the issue and were mistakenly flagged by Discord as child sexual abuse material. That unfortunately meant anything from a spreadsheet to a chessboard to the Minecraft inventory menu might have resulted in an erroneous ban. We know that’s not a satisfying explanation…
The second-generation Skoda Kodiaq arrived back in 2023, picking up where the first one left off by simply being a brilliant large SUV. It remains our favourite option in the class to this day, in fact. Now Skoda is looking to make the Kodiaq even better because we’ve just caught and updated model testing for the very first time. We don’t expect this updated Kodiaq to arrive in showrooms until 2027 given this our first sighting. Ford can’t seem to wipe out its high number of safety recalls, and now nearly 70,000 Ford Mustangs might not even be able to wipe their own windshields. Model Year 2024-2026 Mustangs, including 289 copies of the Ring-crushing Mustang GTD, have been recalled because the wiper motor could lose contact with the control module. Ford Can’t Wipe This Problem With New Software Ford Mustang GTD Spirit of AmericaFord The problem is a bit of an ironic one, especially for the 289 Fords built in Canada. Not that Flat Rock, Michigan is much warmer, but the Mustangs involved don’t have a…
Since 1999, the Porsche 911 GT3 and its derivatives have been sold in one configuration: Coupe. But for 2027, Porsche is breaking from tradition with the first-ever convertible to wear the GT3 badge. This is the 2027 Porsche 911 GT3 S/C, and it represents a significant departure from the GT3 models of yesteryear. But it may also be the perfect driving experience for anyone but hardened track rats. And regardless of your opinion on its purpose, the one thing you can’t deny is its handsome looks from any angle. Researchers at the University of Oxford are working with electric vehicle brand Polestar to study whether the emotional “thrill” of driving can be scientifically measured — and whether it can translate from traditional gas‑powered cars to modern electric vehicles, according to a report by New Atlas. The project, led by the university’s SDG Impact Lab, reflects a shift in the EV market away from an early focus on sustainability toward performance and driver experience. As electric vehicles become more common, automakers are increasingly trying to define and deliver driving enjoyment without the familiar cues of internal combustion engines, such as…

The biggest car news and reviews, no BS Our free daily newsletter sends the stories that really matter directly to you, every weekday. Sometimes I think we humans put too much stock in names, but then I realize that names are literally how we make sense of the world. They allow us to set expectations and differentiate one thing from another. That second duty becomes extremely important when you’re talking about a car with seemingly innumerable variations, like the Porsche 911. The prospect of an open-top 911 GT3—that’s what the new 911 S/C is—initially confused me. As I wrote in…
Australia’s world-first teen social media ban was supposed to keep children under 16 away from popular platforms, including Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube, and X. While this was a major controversial change, it appears that getting around it was barely even a challenge. Researchers created 50 test accounts across nine of the ten platforms covered by the law. Each account claimed its user was 16, the minimum permitted age. None of the platforms asked the researchers to provide proof or complete another age-assurance check. Only the Australian livestreaming platform Kick refused to create an account without a proper age verification. Why…
