Toyota revealed its GR GT sports car and its racing counterpart GR GT3 close to a year ago now. Toyota shared quite a bit about the cars back then, but not quite everything, including some key specifications such as power. We would be a bit more frustrated, but to make up for the delay in those final details, Toyota has been taking its two running examples on tour, and every time we see it driven hard, we get more excited. The latest stop on the tour was at Laguna Seca, and the cars still impress us. Toyota Brought Its Rumbling…
UPDATE: 2026/09/13 08:30 EST BY ROGER BIERMANN Continued Investment In Hybrid Technologies This article has been updated with new infortmation and additional context surrounding Stellantis’s current and future hybrid vehicle prospects. Who’s ready for a little algorithmic science? The CarBuzz investigative team sure is, especially after finding this interesting patent from FCA-US LLC – better known as the North American division of Stellantis – describing a better hybrid powertrain. The conglomerate isn’t quite as hybrid-savvy as other companies, but from what we just read, it sounds like they’re getting serious about building the smoothest-running hybrid ever. That’s a tall order…
Porsche 718 Boxster (Source: Porsche) Porsche was seen testing its upcoming 718 Boxster at the Nürburgring, the famous and grueling race track in Germany. It’s the first we’ve seen the vehicle uncamouflaged, and comes after Porsche’s new CEO quashed rumors of the model’s cancellation. Porsche has been gradually electrifying its vehicle line, offering more and more powerful EVs. As of now, the most powerful Porsche ever is electric, and there’s more to come. But so far, Porsche has been reticent to electrify its sportiest models. Despite coming out with the Taycan, a high-performance sport sedan, and extremely powerful electric versions…
Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei says the time has come to slow down AI development and will give third-party evaluators like METR access to its models to help ensure its “adherence to safety practices and commitments.” In a winding essay, Amodei proposed a three-step plan to “pace the frontier” — jargon that simply means to slow the pace of training and development to give companies time to build safeguards and regulators to evaluate models.Amodei says that giving external evaluators wide-ranging access is just the first step, and one it is taking now unilaterally. Step two would involve the industry coming together…
How many you need depends on your home and usage. tinhkhuong/Shutterstock Not so many decades ago, in much simpler and slower times, many Wi-Fi routers shipped with just a single antenna that could only handle one wireless data stream at a time. As Wi-Fi got better, the internet got faster and devices rapidly multiplied across households. The number of antennas on routers did, too. Today, there are routers with as many as eight antennas. At first glance, routers with many antennas might come off as a simple marketing gimmick, but there’s a good reason why single-antenna…
You never want to be the one made to order pizzas for the office. That’s what I can liken the birth of this list to – a list that has taken many forms before the final version here before you. Arguments over the Chevy Impala ensued, just as fond memories of the Toyota Avalon TRD surfaced. Vile words were spoken of the Infiniti Q50. Everybody hated the Dodge Dart, but everybody loved the Nissan Maxima. No one remembers the Chrysler 200. Not set in stone is our list of sedans that were never replaced or fell victim to a consolidation…
Jeep’s off-road credentials run deeper than almost any other automaker on the planet. The story starts before Jeep was even a consumer brand: the Willys MB served as an indispensable tool during World War II, delivering four-wheel-drive capability in a compact, go-anywhere package that proved its worth on every front. After the war, Jeep grew into its own brand and steadily expanded its lineup with rugged products aimed at a wider range of buyers. The company even created the Trail Rated badge to help shoppers quickly identify which models were genuinely built for the dirt. The good news for budget-conscious…
A new fleet of British-designed and built battery electric trains has been announced, promising thousands of new jobs, faster and more reliable rail service, and significant reductions in carbon emissions across northern England. Often the butt of jokes for its frequent delays and confusing ticketing practices, the British rail system is set to receive a significant upgrade thanks to a broader series of transit contracts totaling more than €1.2 billion. Those upgrades will see Alstom and TransPennine Express will deploy 29 fully electric Adessia Stream electric trains, which will be the first of their kind to be put to work…
Blizzard originally tried to bring the StarCraft universe to the world of 3D shooters way back in 2002 with StarCraft: Ghost. It sat in development hell for years until Blizzard president Mike Morhaime confirmed that it had been canceled in 2014. Now Blizzard is giving it another go with the simply titled StarCraft. Dan Hay, a VP at Blizzard, took the stage at BlizzCon today to reveal that after more than a decade of lying dormant, StarCraft would be returning in 2030. But, rather than another top-down real-time strategy installment, the new title would be an open-world shooter. He then showed…
It helps on a number of levels, it turns out. FotoAndalucia/Shutterstock If there’s one piece of advice that’s been echoed all over tech forums and support pages the moment someone brings up an issue, it’s probably, “Restart your device.” Even though gaming handhelds like the Steam Deck and the ROG Ally don’t look like laptops, under that portable hood they’re running full PC operating systems, regardless of whether that’s Valve’s SteamOS or Windows. So, at their core, they still run on the same principles as your regular PC. That means the age-old advice of “turn it off and…
