With the new Denza Z9 GT now on sale in Europe, BYD’s luxury EV is already off to a strong start in China, with over 10,000 deliveries since it launched.
BYD Denza Z9 GT deliveries surpass the 10,000 mark
After unveiling the new Denza Z9 GT in March, BYD’s luxury sub-brand claimed it was the “world’s longest pure electric driving range electric vehicle.”
Thanks to BYD’s new 122 kWh Blade Battery 2.0, the Denza Z9 GT offers an impressive driving range of up to 1,036 km under CLTC conditions.
It’s among the first vehicles equipped with its breakthrough Flash Charging tech. With up to 1,500 kW of charging power, BYD’s new Flash Charging stations can recharge a vehicle’s battery from 10% to 70% in five minutes. For a full recharge, or 10% to 97%, it takes just nine minutes.
The high-performance EV is built on BYD’s e3 platform with three electric motors packing 1,140 hp (850 kW) combined, enabling it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in under 3 seconds.
All of that, and the Denza Z9 GT still starts at about $40,000 (269,800 yuan) in China. It’s available in both PHEV and EV powertrains. According to Denza, the luxury supercar is already off to a strong start.
Denza announced that it has now delivered over 10,000 new Z9 GT models, boasting “it redefines luxury” with sales continuing to rise.
The milestone comes less than three months after BYD officially launched the new Denza Z9 GT in China on March 5.

BYD opened orders for the new Denza Z9 GT in Europe last month, starting at €115,000 ($134,500) in Germany and France, including VAT.
While that’s over three times the price in China, BYD’s luxury EV is still cheaper than the Porsche Panamera, which starts at €116,400 ($136,000) in Germany.
It’s about the same size too, measuring 5,195 mm in length, 1,990 mm in width, and 1,480 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,125 mm.

In Europe, the Denza Z9 GT EV offers a WLTP range of up to 599 km (372 miles). BYD’s executive vice president, Stella Li, said the luxury EV marks “a very important milestone for our brand” in Europe, adding it’s “the perfect choice to introduce” its Flash Charging tech as it begins to roll out globally.
The Denza Z9 GT is available in purely electric (EV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains. Orders initially opened in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK, but BYD plans to expand to 30 countries by the end of 2026.
The news comes after BYD’s CEO, Wang Chuanfu, acknowledged that demand for new vehicles equipped with its new battery and fast-charging system has already exceeded its production capacity as orders pile up.
