Brabus is so much more than a regular tuner in our day and age. It is a fully-fledged luxury lifestyle brand involved in a wide variety of pursuits not related to cars, including fashion, high-end real estate, and aviation. But to us car guys and girls, its core identity will always be rooted in car tuning and wild customization.
The company’s partnership with Smart started more than two decades ago and is still going strong today, having yielded some fascinating results in the meantime. And with the tiny Fortwo discontinued to make way for the all-electric #2, you can bet your bottom dollar on this replacement getting the Brabus treatment.
A Brabus-Tuned Smart #2 Is Already In The Pipeline

The new Smart #2 broke cover just a few days ago at the Paris Motor Show, born as an electric-only spiritual successor to the Fortwo. It has 180 miles of combined WLTP range resulting from its 35.8-kWh battery and a rear-mounted motor good for up to 80 horsepower and 95 pound-feet of torque. All that is perfectly adequate for urban commuting purposes, but the Brabus version will certainly spice things up.
That’s right; a Brabus variant of the #2 has already been announced by Smart via social media, albeit with only a few teaser images for the time being. And despite the lack of any concrete info, it’s safe to say this bad boy will be a step (or likely more) above the ordinary model in terms of style, luxury, and performance.
What Can We Tell You About The Brabus #2 Right Now?

Cosmetically, the teeny EV is a striking mixture of black paint and red highlighting, which outlines the Smart logo and inner headlight lenses. A sporty front lip spoiler is partially finished in the same color, and you can also catch a glimpse of the tire size if you look up close.
It reads 185/50 and 16 inches in diameter, but it remains to be seen whether anything will change before the production-ready version is officially revealed. That’s just about all we know based on Smart’s previews, and anything beyond this would be pure speculation at this point. Expect more power, aggressive styling, and an upscale interior, nonetheless.
CarBuzz Insight – Why This Matters:
With Brabus versions already available across the entire Smart lineup, we were all but certain that a similar path would be laid out for the #2. As such, the news probably doesn’t come as much of a surprise to most of you out there, being more of an official confirmation of what we already knew. And, as always, we can’t wait to see what the folks at Brabus have been cooking up.
They’re clearly prepared to keep doing what they do best in the electric age, all while the business continues to expand far beyond the tuning segment. We just hope the company won’t end up spreading its resources too thin and losing sight of what made it so popular in the first place. But, as it stands, that seems very unlikely to happen for the foreseeable future.
