It may look futuristic, but the Lucid Air feels like a throwback to a time when all EVs were luxury cars that started at $70,000, because the tax credits would take the sting off. Thankfully, Lucid is getting with the times with some attractive lease offers.
You Can Hop Into A Lucid Air For $699 A Month
Lucid recently reported $1.4 billion in “cash flow improvement opportunities.” To our untrained ears, that sounds like business-speak for “we need to make some darn money, fast.” To that end, you can now lease a $70,900 luxury car at $699 a month.
Here’s how the deal breaks down:
- $699/mo for 36 months
- $6,999 due at signing
- Deal expires October 31, 2026
- Offer available on a 2026 Lucid Air Pure
- Qualifying lessees only
The (relatively) low price is made possible by one of two discounts: the California MyFirstEV Discount, and the Lucid Go Electric Credit for customers outside California. In either case, you’re applying a $3,500 credit to the lease, but you can only claim one or the other. There’s nothing in the fine print about not stacking discounts, but these two in particular are mutually exclusive.
The 620-hp Touring Is Only $120 More Per Month – And Worth Every Penny
The 620-horsepower Touring and 819-hp Grand Touring can also be leased. The Touring will have you paying $819 a month with $7,319 due up front, while the Grand Touring will have you paying $1,449 per month with $8,949 due up front.
If you ask us, the Touring model is the sweet spot. If you’re already paying $699 to lease a base model, you’re just shy of a 620-hp EV for another $120 per month. But leasing isn’t the only way Lucid is trying to move metal – and the financing offer may actually be the more surprising play.
You Can Finance A Lucid Air At 0.00% APR
Close
Leasing protects you from depreciation – but what if you actually want to own one of these things? Lucid’s answer is 0% APR, which is an offer almost no luxury automaker makes. The lease offers covered above don’t specify an offer to buy once the lease is up. If you want a Lucid Air to keep, you’ll want to look at the finance tab, which has the Pure and the Touring advertised at 0% APR plus $2,500 in Lucid Credit. Here’s how this deal works:
- 0.00% APR for up to 60 months
- Deal expires October 31, 2026
- Offer made on a 2026 Pure or Touring
- Qualifying buyers only
- Offer may be combined with other incentives, but not all incentives are combinable
The Lucid Air Grand Touring is available to finance at 2.99% APR, which is less than half the national average rate of around 6.3%. Here’s what that loan might look like, assuming we’re paying the whole thing off in five years.
Base MSRP
$114,900
Down Payment
$15,000
Monthly Payment
$1,795
Total Interest
$7,777
Total Purchase Cost
$122,679
This is before taxes, titling, and other expenses. The question is whether you would actually want to buy a Lucid Air at this price, even if you can get really low APR. Keeping an 819-hp supercar in your driveway sounds like fun, but EVs depreciate quickly, and your Lucid Air will be outdated by the time you pay it off. At this point, a used EV is a more sensible path to big electric horsepower.
The 2027 Lucid Gravity Can Be Financed At 1.99% APR
2026 Lucid Gravity GT-SLucid
- 1.99% APR for up to 60 months
- Stacks with up to $5,000 in Lucid Credit
- Offer expires October 31, 2026
- Qualifying buyers only
- Offer may be combined with some, but not all other available incentives
Let’s see what that loan would look like with a $20,000 down payment, assuming we can claim the full $5,000 in Lucid credit.
Base MSRP
$79,900
Down Payment
$20,000
Monthly Payment
$962
Total Interest
$2,822
Total Purchase Cost
$77,723
At these terms, our total cost actually comes out to less than MSRP because the $5,000 credit outweighs our $2,822 in interest.Realistically, very few buyers are going to qualify for this deal. But if Lucid is this desperate to move some product, that means this is a good time to buy, no matter what your credit looks like.
Used Lucids Are Already Selling At Half Price
Close
The Lucid Air hit the market for the 2022 model year, and it’s already lost quite a bit of value on the used market, with some listing for around half their MSRP. We dug up the following examples.
- A 49,950-mile 2023 Touring is selling for $37,990 in Arizona.
- A 17,206-mile 2024 Pure is selling for $35,084 in California.
- A 17,377-mile 2023 Pure is selling for $34,984 in California.
- A 39,334-mile 2023 Touring is selling for $41,590 in Illinois.
- A 23,239-mile 2023 Touring is selling for $41,590 in California.
- A 30,214-mile 2023 Touring is selling for $41,990 in Ohio.
- A 30,030-mile 2023 Touring is selling for $41,990 in Texas.
- A 10,985-mile 2022 Touring is selling for $53,990 in New Jersey.
- A 10,044-mile 2022 Touring is selling for $52,590 in California.
There’s something to be said for being a car’s first owner and enjoying that new car smell. But Lucids depreciate so quickly that they’re unlikely to be worth half their MSRP by the time you’ve paid them off.Considering the fact that EV batteries have turned out to last a lot longer than once believed, a used Air might make more sense if you’re looking to purchase. On the other hand, leasing the car for a few years and then turning it in means not having to worry about depreciation, or obsolescence, in the first place.
