It is not often that a manufacturer brings back a model just because of immense customer demand, but the Bolt is one of them, as it makes a return as a 2027 model-year car. However, it will only be on sale for one year, as Chevrolet needs the space at the factory for different, more proof-bearing models. While many may not consider the Bolt as an SUV, it is listed as one on Chevrolet’s website.
It can be considered as a crossover, that also happens to be the cheapest new EV you can buy in America. Expect good performance and a techy, suave interior, especially for the price. The rear is a little cramped and the cargo space is nothing to write home about. However, with a NACS port and good enough efficiency, it is the perfect small-city car.

The Trailblazer is one of the smaller crossover/SUVs Chevy currently offers. It offers good room for five, has efficient powertrains that may not be the first word on performance, but it gets the job done. All that, with good enough space at the back as well. This SUV’s trump card is its availability in AWD trims, which the slightly roomier and less expensive Trax cannot do. Otherwise, the Trax may be the better option for most people. Nevertheless, Chevy seemed to have heard about the differences between the two, or lack thereof, and has planned to change a few things around for the 2027 Trailblazer.
Buy If: AWD is a priority; you want space for five while still being city-friendly.
Skip If: You can make do with FWD in the Trax; you would much rather save some money for a near-identical experience.

The 2027 Trailblazer brings with it a host of upgrades, primarily with the screens inside. The exterior has been updated, although marginally. You also get more ADAS features as standard, such as automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, etc. Chevy has also simplified the trims for the Trailblazer as well, while adding a rugged off-road focused Z71 trim.

The Chevrolet Trax is ever so slightly larger than the Trailblazer, at a price that is almost $2,000 cheaper than the same. It is also offered with a more cohesive 6-speed automatic transmission rather than the CVT gearbox of the Trailblazer that some may say is lethargic to use. One of the only reasons you would pick the Trailblazer over the Trax is due to the lack of an AWD trim. The Trailblazer also rides taller than the Trax to make it a little more adept at off-road trails than the Trax. For someone looking for an urban crossover, the Trax offers good practicality, space and efficiency at a price that is hard to beat.
Buy If: You want good value for money and a large trunk.
Skip If: You want even more space, or you can wait for the 2027 Trax.

The Equinox was refreshed for 2025, and is largely a carryover for 2027 as well. It competes in the brutal compact SUV market, and is slightly overshadowed by the likes of the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4. Nevertheless, it is a bit of a dark horse, as it offers decent fuel economy and a good interior for a price that undercuts its main competitors. While it may not have a hybrid powertrain as an option, the base four-cylinder engine is good enough for light use, and the rear seats are definitely more accommodating than the Trax and Trailblazer.
Buy If: You truly want a sub-$30k compact SUV, you want to buy a Chevy but need more space than the Trax.
Skip If: You want class-leading space and fuel economy.

While the Equinox EV on paper has a slightly smaller trunk space than its ICE counterpart, it actually has a larger footprint externally. However, much like the ICE Equinox, it also undercuts its rivals like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 in terms of price. For the price, you get an EV that has an estimated range of around 319 miles, according to the EPA. The interior also gets a massive 17.7-inch touchscreen that mimics the likes of larger and more expensive Chevys. You also get an option to upgrade to an all-wheel drive powertrain that increases power to over 300 hp.
Buy If: You want an EV that undercuts its rivals for everyday use.

The Chevy Blazer is next on the list, and is considerably larger than the Equinox. It received a mild refresh for this year, with its trims now being streamlined and the sportier RS trim now getting the four-cylinder as standard, with the naturally aspirated V6 now being an option. Apart from the larger cargo area, its sliding rear seats offer good flexibility in terms of rear legroom as well. If you are looking for a sportier crossover with enough space for up to five people and good cargo space, this one is for you. However, it may get slightly overshadowed by its EV counterpart. The Blazer’s price on the second-hand market is also slightly unstable, according to our price trends graph.
Buy If: You are looking for a sporty SUV with good storage space.

The Blazer EV is as close as you can get to three different driving experiences in the same car, and it is all down to its powertrain options. While the cargo area is not as large as the ICE version, much like the Equinox EV, it is considerably longer and a tad wider than the Blazer ICE. In terms of powertrains, the base FWD single electric motor set up offers good range, at an estimated 312 miles. The next step up is a 300-hp RS trim that is a balance of power and efficiency. However, if that is not enough performance for you, the Blazer EV SS offers 615 horsepower with a 0–60 mph time of 3.3 seconds.
Buy If: You want an extremely fast electric SUV, or one with good range.
Skip If: You need more storage space, want to save some money, as it is expensive in its segment or if you depend on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as it is missing here.

The Traverse is the next step up from two-row SUVs, to three-row family haulers, and one of the biggest perks of this SUV is its space inside. Usually, the third row is an afterthought just to increase the maximum passenger count to seven, or to be used by children on the odd occasion. However, with the Traverse, the third row is big enough even for adults, and is one of the best in its segment. You get the option of captains chairs in the second row as well. While the engine and gearbox combination may not be the most refined, space inside is the big selling point here, and this is not even the biggest SUV Chevy currently offers.
Buy If: You are looking for a seven-seater with a usable third row, you want an SUV with oodles of space.
Skip If: You want a more engaging driving experience.

The Tahoe is the one that can do it all in the Chevy SUV lineup. It offers good space inside, good towing capabilities and plenty of trims to choose from. It received a facelift in 2025, and now gets more standard kit on specific trims. The trims make this SUV extremely versatile, as the Z71 trim adds all-terrain tires and underbody protection for serious off-road use, whereas the High Country trim does not skimp out on the chrome and offers the Technology and Entertainment package as standard now.

If there was a Chevy SUV size chart, the Suburban would shatter all metrics. It is the largest Chevy SUV currently on sale, with space to seat up to nine passengers, along with anything they can bring with them. The Suburban gets the same three engine options as the Tahoe, with the diesel inline-six cylinder being the most fuel efficient, although not spectacular. Inside, the front two chairs can be swapped for a bench for maximum occupancy. There is ample space in the middle and third rows as well, and the cargo area remains cavernous with all rows up. Fold the third row down, and you may have to start measuring trunk space in a different unit.
Buy If: You want the most space available in a Chevy SUV, the ability to carry nine passengers at once.
Skip If: You want a city-friendly SUV, you really value fuel economy.
