Alfa Romeo is teasing you and testing your ability to hit pause. The Italian automaker is getting ready to reveal a concept car that could help save the brand. This isn’t our first teaser for whatever Alfa is cooking, but this one supposedly contains some not-so-secret info regarding its name. So of course it’s a word-heavy teaser video on Instagram, meant to inspire the masses.
Can you hit pause at the right time, or is this just a way to trick you into liking a clip?
A String Of Words Fast Enough To Cause A Seizure
The short teaser clip posted to the company’s Instagram account is short on details, but big on tantalizing excitement. Which, frankly, sums up much of Alfa Romeo’s history over the decades, which is why it’s in the position it finds itself in today.
Spotting the words as they flash up in the post is nearly impossible. But according to the post, one of them is the name for this new concept. Fortunately, the team here at CarBuzz has ways of slowing things down.
We got all the words, so you don’t have to work for them. On the list, none of them feel like good names for any car, let alone an Alfa Romeo. Would you buy an Alfa Romeo The First Step? We didn’t think so.
Running down the first letter of each one doesn’t spell anything, and while some are clear references to existing brand history and even paint colors, we’re at a loss.
Which Of These Could Be Alfa’s Final Choice?

Some do stand out, though. Cuore is Italian for heart, and Alfa used the name on the 6C Cuore Sportivo concept car in 2013. Battito means heartbeat, and it’s a name the automaker has not used before. Leonardo likely refers to Leonardo Fioravanti, a designer who has penned concept cars for the brand in the past, including the 2001 Vola coupe and the 1969 Alfa Romeo 33/2 Coupé Speciale. But that would inevitably have people calling the car Leo. Alfa Romeo Leo? May as well call it Alfa Romeo Bob.
The numbers 33/2 make an appearance and could have special significance. It was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in 1969, and the new concept car is set to be revealed at the same show this year. Alfa also builds a modern version of it already, and has promised more variants will follow.

This is the second teaser for the model. The first one was posted last week and showed what appears to be the trunklid of a supercar. The only vehicle in the latest clip that we can’t identify is likewise a sporty coupe of some sort. A sporty coupe or supercar, though, might not be what Alfa Romeo needs. The brand sold 5,652 vehicles in the US last year, 36% below the year before. In 2026, it is doing even worse, down another 45% in the first half of the year.
Alfa is selling better elsewhere in the world, with sales up significantly in Asia, Mexico, and Europe thanks to the launch of the new compact Junior crossover.

Alfa Romeo needs a hit. A new Stelvio has been pushed back two years and the Giulia won’t be replaced soon either. An Alfa spokesperson did tell CarBuzz that a new C-segment SUV and a hatch are also on the way, plus some low-volume few-off cars.
At this point, it doesn’t really matter what it puts on sale, as long as it sells something customers want. After all, this is a brand that had to issue an official statement to confirm that it wasn’t dead. This could be the model that helps make sure it stays that way.
