Genuine Parts Company has named the leadership teams that will run its Automotive and Industrial businesses once the company completes its planned separation in early 2027.
Court Carruthers, a current board member, has been appointed chief executive officer‑elect of GPC and will take over as CEO after the separation. Bert Nappier will serve as executive vice‑president, chief financial and operating officer. The post‑separation GPC team will also include Jenn Hulett, Chris Galla, Alain Masse, Franck Baduel and Rob Cameron. Jean‑Jacques Lafont will become non‑executive chairman.
“The Board undertook a thoughtful and deliberate process to identify the right leaders for GPC and Motion’s next chapters,” said Russ Hardin, lead director of Genuine Parts Company. “We have great confidence in Will Stengel and Court Carruthers and believe their leadership and relevant expertise… positions both companies to pursue their distinct strategies, accelerate growth and create long‑term shareholder value.”
Will Stengel, currently chairman and CEO of Genuine Parts Company, will move to Motion as chairman and CEO. James Howe has been named president and chief operating officer, and Howard Yu will join as executive vice‑president and chief financial officer. Kevin Stone and Billy Hamilton will serve as chief information officer and chief human resources officer.
GPC will hold its investor day on Dec. 8, 2026, in New York City, followed by Motion on Dec. 9. The separation remains on track for the first quarter of 2027.
