ZF Aftermarket is demonstrating new digital workflows at Automechanika Frankfurt that connect vehicle data, diagnostics, workshop operations and parts procurement to help fleets and workshops move from fault identification to completed repair more quickly.
The company says many fleets and workshops still work across separate systems, creating delays between issue detection, diagnostics, service planning and parts ordering. ZF’s approach links existing customer systems with ZF and partner solutions to create a coordinated repair flow.
“Our goal is to help our customers resolve issues faster and manage increasing complexity more effectively,” said Philippe Colpron, head of ZF Aftermarket. “By bringing together remote vehicle data, diagnostics, workshop operations and parts procurement, we are creating practical solutions that help maximize uptime.”
ZF Bus Connect can be linked with ZF [pro]Diagnostics through a CAN Tunnel connection, allowing technicians to access diagnostic systems remotely and begin troubleshooting before a vehicle reaches the workshop. The setup can also be used with third‑party diagnostic providers.
ZF is also linking ZF [pro]Manager, its digital front desk for workshops, with fleet management platforms such as Vandy to convert vehicle condition information into service cases, match workshop availability and schedule repair appointments digitally. The system is designed to work with both ZF and third‑party solutions through an open API.
ZF MultiScan can support a smooth transition from vehicle diagnostics to parts identification and ordering when used in combination with distributors’ electronic parts catalogs.
Diagnostic data can also be connected directly to distributor ordering systems. ZF MultiScan transfers vehicle and fault information into electronic parts catalogs, providing immediate parts recommendations with pricing and availability. ZF says this reduces time between diagnosis and procurement and helps workshops identify correct parts more consistently.
“Digitalization only creates value when it makes every day work easier,” said Benoit Dessart, head of business line digital solutions at ZF Aftermarket. “Openness and partnerships are therefore central to our strategy.”
