    • The new Z9GT variant costs 329,800 yuan ($48,670), 10.82% less than the previously sole all-electric e3 version.
    • The variant offers a CLTC range of 860 kilometers and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds.

BYD (HKEX: 1211) premium brand Denza on Wednesday added a new Z9GT variant priced at 329,800 yuan ($48,670), giving buyers access to its e3 tri-motor technology at a lower price.

Previously, the 2026 Z9GT lineup offered just 1 all-electric e3 variant, the Flash Charging Performance model priced at 369,800 yuan. The new version costs 40,000 yuan, or 10.82%, less.

Denza general manager Li Hui said the move responds to feedback from consumers seeking the driving capabilities of the all-electric e3 tri-motor system with a simpler equipment package.

The new variant carries a 122.5-kWh second-generation BYD Blade Battery and offers a CLTC range of 860 kilometers, exceeding the Performance version’s 820 kilometers.

Its front motor delivers a maximum output of 230 kW, while each of the 2 rear motors produces 310 kW. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, compared with 2.7 seconds for the Performance version.

Both variants offer the same charging performance. Denza said charging from 10% to 70% takes 5 minutes, while charging from 10% to 97% takes 9 minutes.

Equipment differences center on brakes and tires. The new variant uses 4-piston front brake calipers and 255/45 R20 tires, while the Performance version features 6-piston calipers, carbon-ceramic brake discs and 255/40 R21 tires.

Both have a minimum turning radius of 4.62 meters and support compass turns. Their top speeds are 240 km/h and 270 km/h, respectively.

The new variant also features the God’s Eye 5.0 driver-assistance system and DiSus-A intelligent air body control system.

The Z9GT received an update on March 5, with the entry-level single-motor electric version starting at 269,800 yuan, about 24% below its predecessor.

It was the first mass-produced model delivered with BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and flash charging technology. Its all-electric versions offer a CLTC range of up to 1,036 kilometers.

The Z9GT lineup previously comprised 5 variants: 3 all-electric versions and 2 plug-in hybrids. The addition expands the all-electric lineup to 4 variants.

BYD had built more than 10,000 flash charging stations across 332 cities as of August 28.

The existing N8L is offered only as a plug-in hybrid with flash charging; the EV version is expected to use BYD’s latest flash charging technology.
