The Toyota Corolla entered its 12th generation for the 2018 model year, with the four-door sedan arriving a few years later for the US market by MY2020. Not only was the Corolla available once more as both a five-door hatchback or a four-door sedan for the region, but Toyota USA introduced a hybrid variant of the Corolla; following trends in other markets like Japan and Europe that had seen both non-hybrid and hybrid versions of the Toyota Corolla Sedan/Hatch sold alongside each other.
