Revuelto SV Is The Most Powerful Lamborghini Ever, Still No Match For ZR1X

Fifty-five years ago, the automobile that first earned the title of supercar evolved into the first Super Veloce. Today, Lamborghini is announcing that SV badge once again. This time it’s the Revuelto that is getting the go-faster treatment, and with 1,065 horsepower it will definitely go faster. In fact, it’s the fastest and most powerful Lamborghini production car ever.

But the newest SV is about more than just a power boost.

It’s The Electrics That Make More Power, Not The Brutal V12

The pumping heart of the Revuelto slides into the Revuelto SV completely unchanged. The 6.5-liter V12 makes 814 horsepower and spins to 9,500 rpm, just like in the standard car.

It’s the two axial flux electric motors on the front axle and the more traditional electric motor in the back that pick up the slack. Between the three motors, the car makes an extra 50 hp, bringing the total to 1,065. Arguably more impressive is the torque figure, with Lamborghini claiming a huge jump from 783 lb-ft to 1,051.

The result is a car that can run zero to 62 mph in 2.4 seconds and hit 124 mph in just 6.7. Flat out and with enough pavement, it can reach speeds higher than 214 mph. Super Veloce, indeed, but the SV Lamborghini can’t touch Chevrolet’s Corvette ZR1X, which can do the same zero to 62 in under two seconds and hit 233 flat out. Awkward.

“Revuelto SV takes the potential of Revuelto to an even higher level, building on a car that has already set a new benchmark in terms of performance and driving precision. Every element has been developed to make the experience behind the wheel even more intense, direct and engaging.”

To help the SV accomplish the higher intensity and direct feel the company wanted, Lamborghini has dialed up the aero package. The new wing, front bumper, and other carbon fiber wind-slicing extras don’t just make the SV look much meaner than the standard car when it’s parked — they add downforce. The package makes 80% more downforce than an Aventador SVJ, and the Gurney flap on the rear even helps suck air through the radiators improving cooling.

Even the interior is sharper, Lamborghini claims. Ultralight door panels, special seats, and more carbon fiber trim than any previous Revuelto all help make it feel special even before you press the start button.

The suspension is upgraded using manually adjusted shocks developed from the GT3 racing car. Lamborghini claims 17% better agility and 10% better lateral grip. Lamborghini will offer complete setup suggestions for drivers who want to take their SV to the track, not just Pebble Beach.

Once they arrive at the track, the new CCM-R-Plus carbon ceramics will help them keep it on the pavement. The 420-mm front brake rotors have 11% higher peak braking, 23% better heat dissipation, and 12% improvement in brake disc temperature to help keep them working on the longest track stints.

A new Pilota driving mode is also track-focused. It uses a five-stage traction control system, again derived from the GT3 racer. It can adapt to tire wear and track conditions, and handle the special Bridgestone Potenza Race R track-day tires Lamborghini will sell with the car. Or, you can get a bespoke Blizzak winter tire, because nothing says winter like a 1,065-hp Lamborghini. At least it has AWD and it won’t rust.

CarBuzz Insight – Why This Matters:

Every flagship Lamborghini except the Countach has received an SV version, and Lamborghini is sticking to that playbook for the Revuelto. It’s worth noting that SV has never been about big power gains, but the arrival of the Corvette ZR1X has certainly thrown a wild new variable into the hypercar world. Would the Revuelto SV be better served with a bigger power increase?

In any case, there’s certainly room for the Revuelto to continue evolving, and it certainly will. Meanwhile, the ZR1X is peak C8 Corvette. Hypercars like these obviously aren’t designed for mass production, but they keep enthusiasts’ hearts fluttering. That’s never a bad thing.

Lamborghini plans to build 1,963 copies of the Revuelto SV during its run. That number might sound familiar as the year the car company was founded.
