VW has dropped the third row of seating from the Tiguan, which may peeve some family drivers, but it does mean that cargo space has been upped to 73.4 cubic feet with all the seats folded down. Of the cheapest German SUVs to maintain, the 2025 Audi Q7 is the most expensive to keep on the road, with a rather luxurious annual maintenance bill of $1,185. This year’s model lineup has received a lot of updates from the 2024 model, including redesigned LED headlights, laser-etched badging on the B-pillars, new wheels (which see them gain an extra two inches from 20-inches to 22-inches), a new rear bumper, new software for the Audi MMI system in the cabin, and three rows of seating as standard.
The Q7 has also been priced to take on the other three-row models. This year’s model does have a starting price of $60,500, which is not cheap in anyone’s book, but does make for the most affordable luxury mid-size German SUV on sale this year.

If we take the three main trims of the Q7, the Premium, the Premium Plus, and the Prestige (again, the Q7 has the SQ trim in its lineup but has a more expensive maintenance bill), it is clear to see that luxury SUV-ing is at the heart of the Q7. Aside from the SQ7, the 2025 Q7 Prestige is as good as it gets and epitomizes luxury with features like ventilated front seats, a HUD, adaptive cruise control with lane guidance, intersection assist, and the Executive Package, which includes four-zone climate control and a power rear-window sunshade. Prices for the Prestige are high and start at just under $80,000, so outprices both the 2025 BMW X5 and X6, which have starting prices of $68,000 and $76,000, respectively, but you do get an awful lot of SUV for the money.
