- The Denza Z9S all-electric sedan offers 920 km of CLTC range in single-motor form and 780 km in tri-motor version.
- The single-motor version has peak power of 370 kW, while the tri-motor variant delivers a combined 890 kW (1,194 hp).
Denza, the premium brand of BYD (HKEX: 1211), will open pre-sales for its all-electric Z9S sedan on August 3, as it accelerates its product push.
Several Chinese auto media outlets reported the plan on Tuesday. Denza has yet to announce the timing on its official social media channels, though it released images today of the new model’s “Misty Purple” interior.
The Denza Z9S features a wrap-around cabin design, with a horizontally spanning center console.
The sedan measures 5,090 mm long, 1,980 mm wide and 1,490 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,025 mm, according to its regulatory filing.
That positions it close to the SU7 sedan from Xiaomi (HKEX: 1810), which is 4,997 mm long with a 3,000 mm wheelbase.
Compared with the Denza Z9 sedan currently on sale, the Z9S is 145 mm shorter in length and has a 100 mm shorter wheelbase.
The Denza Z9S comes with frameless doors and semi-hidden door handles, paired with yellow brake calipers.
It will be offered in a rear-wheel-drive single-motor version and a tri-motor all-wheel-drive version equipped with e3 technology. The single-motor version has peak power of 370 kW, while the tri-motor variant delivers a combined 890 kW (1,194 hp).
Both versions carry a 102.3 kWh battery pack. The single-motor version offers 920 km of CLTC range, while the tri-motor version provides 780 km.
The model features a roof-mounted LiDAR and is expected to come with the God’s Eye B assisted driving system.
The Z9S is the third model in the Denza Z9 family, following the Z9 and the Z9 GT.
Denza is stepping up its product roll-out. The Denza Z, its first all-electric two-door supercar, made its global debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK on July 9 and opened for pre-orders in China on July 13.
Denza delivered 20,352 vehicles in June, up 28.95% year-on-year and a record monthly high, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
Still, the brand delivered 66,541 vehicles in the first half of the year, down 16.65% from a year earlier.
