- BYD released official images showing the Da Han from multiple angles, with the model set to make its public debut at the Chengdu Auto Show in August.

BYD (HKEX: 1211) has released the first official images of its new flagship sedan, the Da Han, continuing to build anticipation ahead of the model’s formal debut next month.
Lu Tian, general manager of sales for the new energy vehicle (NEV) maker’s Dynasty lineup, shared a set of official images on Weibo on Monday, showing the Da Han’s front, side and rear designs.
The Da Han combines the dimensions of a D-plus-segment vehicle with an elegant stance, giving it the presence expected of a flagship, Lu said.
The model features elongated body proportions, a fastback-style roofline and a low-slung stance.
This marks the third time this month that BYD has teased the vehicle. Lu released 3 design sketches of the Da Han last Friday.
The Da Han will offer an all-electric range of up to 1,008 kilometers and make its formal debut at the Chengdu Auto Show in August, Lu previously said. The 29th Chengdu Motor Show will be held from August 21 to August 30 in Chengdu, Sichuan province.
The Chengdu Auto Show is one of China’s 5 major A-class auto shows and attracted nearly 120 brands last year.
The Da Han is the first D-segment flagship sedan in BYD’s Dynasty lineup and will be positioned above the existing flagship Han sedan.
The Da Han measures 5,256 millimeters in length, 1,999 millimeters in width and 1,510 millimeters in height, with a wheelbase of 3,130 millimeters, according to regulatory filings released last month by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
The model has a 5-seat layout and was filed in 3 variants, including 2 battery electric vehicle (BEV) versions and 1 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) version.
The single-motor BEV version is powered by a permanent-magnet synchronous motor with a peak output of 370 kilowatts and has a top speed of 240 kilometers per hour.
The all-wheel-drive version adds a 200-kilowatt front motor, bringing combined peak output to 570 kilowatts, or 764 hp. It has a top speed of 270 kilometers per hour.
The Da Han BEV is equipped with a battery pack of up to 102.326 kilowatt-hours, weighing 725.9 kilograms and offering an energy density of 141 Wh/kg.
The single-motor versions have CLTC ranges of 1,008 kilometers and 970 kilometers, while the all-wheel-drive versions offer ranges of 880 kilometers, 850 kilometers and 820 kilometers.
The PHEV version uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and a drive motor with a peak output of 200 kilowatts. The engine has a maximum output of 115 kilowatts.
The PHEV is equipped with a 54.489-kWh battery pack and has an all-electric range of 370 kilometers.
All 3 variants use BYD’s Blade Battery based on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry and are expected to feature the company’s second-generation Blade Battery, which supports ultra-fast charging.
The model’s naming process was itself a marketing campaign. Lu previously invited members of BYD’s user community to submit potential names, with “Da Han” winning by a wide margin among the 6 finalists.
The sedan will form a pair of flagship models for the Dynasty lineup alongside the Da Tang SUV, targeting the premium market.
The Da Tang is the Dynasty lineup’s first D-segment flagship SUV. It was launched on June 17 with prices ranging from 239,900 yuan ($35,330) to 309,900 yuan.
The Da Tang EV uses the second-generation Blade Battery and offers an all-electric range of up to 950 kilometers. BYD calls it the world’s longest-range full-size SUV.
Deliveries of the model began last month, and the 10,000th unit was delivered last week. BYD first announced the Da Han’s planned Chengdu Auto Show debut during a delivery celebration for the Da Tang in Xinjiang.
The current Seal 06 EV was launched in June 2025 with a starting price of 109,800 yuan ($16,170) and BYD’s LiDAR-free God’s Eye C driver-assistance system.
