- Firefly delivered 6,946 vehicles in June, the second-highest monthly figure on record.
- Firefly took only about 6 weeks to go from its 60,000th to its upcoming 70,000th delivery, faster than the nearly 2 months it took to go from 50,000 to 60,000.
Firefly, the boutique compact EV brand of Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO), is set to see its 70,000th vehicle delivered, the brand announced on its official Weibo account on Sunday.
The upcoming milestone comes just over a month after the brand completed its 60,000th delivery on May 23, hinting that sales momentum for the small all-electric vehicle is accelerating.
For comparison, Firefly took nearly 2 months to go from its 50,000th delivery, achieved on March 29, to its 60,000th.
The announcement coincided with World Firefly Day, which falls on the first weekend of July each year. The brand today launched its annual theme season, dubbed “glow together.”
As part of the campaign, Firefly is once again partnering with Fu Xinhua, director of the Firefly Conservation Research Center in Hubei, to promote the protection of firefly habitats.
The Firefly EV, currently the brand’s only model on sale, began first deliveries on April 29, 2025. It is also the lowest-priced product of Nio Inc, targeting young urban commuters.
In April this year, the brand launched an updated version of the model. It is priced between 119,800 yuan ($17,646) and 125,800 yuan for outright purchase, or between 79,800 yuan and 85,800 yuan under the BaaS (battery as a service) battery rental scheme.
The car is 4,003 mm long, 1,781 mm wide and 1,557 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,615 mm.
It adopts a single-motor layout with a power output of 120 kW. Its standard range version carries a 42.1-kWh battery pack, offering a range of up to 420 km.
Firefly delivered 6,946 vehicles in June, up 76.65% year-on-year and up 22.66% from May, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

That was the brand’s second-highest monthly figure on record, behind only the 7,084 vehicles delivered in December 2025, and contributed 17.11% of Nio Inc’s deliveries for June.
In the first half of this year, Firefly delivered 29,172 vehicles. As of the end of June, its cumulative deliveries stood at 68,586.
As the milestone approaches, Firefly is preparing to join Nio’s battery swap network. Since June 25, the brand has been conducting internal testing at fifth-generation pioneer battery swap stations in 6 cities, including Shanghai and Beijing.
Nio has previously said that large-scale deployment of the fifth-generation stations will officially begin in the third quarter of this year. Before that, Firefly vehicles were unable to use the company’s existing fourth-generation stations due to their short wheelbase.
Firefly is also the pioneer brand for Nio’s push into overseas markets, having entered more than 10 of them, including right-hand-drive markets such as Singapore and Thailand.
Last month, a right-hand-drive version of the model was showcased at the 2026 Hong Kong Auto Show, paving the way for its upcoming local launch.
The model was limited to just 333 units, with the pace of sales exceeding the management team’s initial expectations.
